Podcast guest on the “Let’s have a chat – Podcast”
Join Challaine and me on the Let’s Have a Chat podcast as we explore EMDR‘s transformative role in healing childhood trauma as an adult. Discover how parts work helps us understand and integrate the fragmented parts of ourselves. Tune in now to learn how these powerful approaches can support your healing journey.
Trauma healing involves integrating fragmented parts of the self and supporting regulation of the nervous system as a foundation for lasting change. Effective trauma recovery may include EMDR, when used within a trauma-informed framework and supported by appropriate preparation, alongside approaches that honour the connection between mind, emotions, body, and spirit. Setting and navigating boundaries—sometimes including distancing from toxic relationships—requires learning to engage with conflict constructively and is a central part of healing from trauma and codependency.
Unpacking Trauma: A Conversation with Natalie Jovanic on Healing, Resilience, and Transformation
In this episode of Trauma Talks with Russ Tellup, Russ sits down with Natalie Jovanic, accomplished therapist and host of the Trauma Demystified podcast. Natalie shares her deeply personal journey—from a challenging upbringing to discovering the path that led her into therapy and her work as a trauma specialist.
Together, they explore Natalie’s clinical expertise in child abuse and sexual trauma, and discuss how approaches such as EMDR, Polyvagal Theory, Systemic Constellation work, and parts work support meaningful, lasting healing. Natalie offers thoughtful insights into how trauma shapes the nervous system, relationships, and sense of self—and how compassionate, evidence-based care can help clients reconnect with resilience and inner wisdom.
This heartfelt and enlightening conversation invites listeners into a deeper understanding of trauma, recovery, and the transformative power of being truly seen and supported.
Healing, Identity and the Power of Belonging
How do we redefine ourselves in the face of systemic barriers and personal loss? In this episode of Becoming and Belonging, I join host Amy to explore healing, identity, and the search for belonging in a world that often imposes rigid labels.
I share my journey of reclaiming personal power after childhood trauma and systemic oppression, as well as the therapeutic approaches I use in my work—including IFS-informed parts work, somatic awareness, EMDR, and anti-oppressive practices. We discuss how identity evolves through life transitions, the role of curiosity in healing, and why setting boundaries is essential for recovery.
This episode is for anyone seeking to reconnect with themselves, navigate societal labels, and embrace a more authentic path forward.
Dismantling power dynamics in counselling – Podcast guest on the Inclusive Dad Podcast
I had the pleasure of joining Aaron on The Inclusive Dad podcast for a powerful conversation about inclusion, privilege, and meaningful allyship in counselling and beyond. We explored how systemic barriers impact marginalized communities, why performative allyship falls short, and the importance of ongoing self-reflection in creating true change.
As a non-binary immigrant and trauma counsellor, I shared my experiences navigating cultural adaptation, the role of privilege in access to care, and practical steps for fostering genuine inclusivity. This episode is a must-listen for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of anti-oppression work and take real action toward equity.
The Connected Community: Unlocking the Power of EMDR
Join me as I chat with host Nicky Yazbeck about the transformative power of EMDR therapy. We explore how safety, parts work, and somatic approaches support trauma integration and healing.
The conversation highlights why trauma-informed care is essential for meaningful recovery. We also discuss grounding and self-soothing techniques that help regulate the nervous system and build resilience.
Listen in to discover how recovery can begin with the right support.
Trauma Demystified
After being a guest on about 15 – 20 podcasts, I eventually stopped guest appearances. They felt repetitive, and I wanted conversations that could go deeper. That’s why I created my own podcast: fewer episodes, more depth.
My podcast explores the hidden layers of trauma and healing, thoughtful deep dives about how early experiences shape our nervous system, how triggered parts show up in daily life, and what it takes to reclaim safety in adulthood. Each episode is a quiet, reflective space for understanding, insight, and the slow, meaningful work of healing.
