How may depression show up ?

Many people experience depression throughout their lifetime. People experience depression in different ways: Common symptoms are a persistant sense of sadness, emptiness and loss of interest in life. It may also be show up as a sense of isolation, feelings of worthlessness, or anger and frustration. Furthmore, depression may change our sleeping and eating patterns.

Depression can also be connected to childhood trauma. Research shows that about 75% of people who live with depression have a history of chilhdhood trauma such as sexual abuse, emotional abuse or neglect. Systemic oppression and racism can also contribute to experiencing depression. 

Overall, depression may interfere with our lives and stops us from doing the things we want to do.
